From Holisticism workshop
Five strategies
Cognition mapping
Chronological thinking vs. spiderweb thinking
🕸️ Let your ideas ping pong as you dump them out, then organize by project or area
Prefer paper!
🪄 DO: Group to dos by life areas/projects, instead of chronological
Chaotic idea energy = personalized map pointing to what you’re thematically, existentially interested in
Write down your ideas! “inboxing” e.g.
When you build a practice of writing ideas down and putting them in same searchable place even if you don’t review it, you add to a constellation of concepts.
🪄DO: Start writing down ideas in one dedicated place.
3 D’s
Most to dos we procrastinate on are actually projects.
Project = any task with more than one action step
Calling mom vs. planning mom’s bday
3 D’s:
- Delegate
- Defer (to person or tool)
- Delete
🪄DO: “Do I need to do this or am I making things more challenging than they need to be?” 80/20!
Low-information diet
If you’re tap dancing on precipice of burnout, recommend implementing a low-information diet for 30+ days.
- No educational content—pause any classes related to job or work
- No work-y podcasts—gossip and silly goose content only!
- No work-y social media
- No documentaries
- No nonfiction
- Limit news intake
Replace with:
- Hobbies
- “Junk food” media (comedy podcasts, movies, kpop)
- Fiction
- Socializing IRL
- Exercise
- Making bad art
- Making bad anything
